Andy Reid, Marianne Owens and Paul Williams (l-r) helped to launch our postcard campaign at PCS conference
Egypt Solidarity’s new postcard campaign highlighting the role of Sisi’s British backers in supporting repression in Egypt kicked off today at the PCS union’s annual conference in Brighton with the help of Marianne Owens and Paul Williams of the PCS National Executive, and Sue Bond, PCS Vice-President.
Conference delegates signed postcards to Tory Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, featuring the cases of Sondos Reda Abu-Bakr and Shaimaa al-Sabbagh, who were shot dead during street protests in January this year, and calling for an end to arms sales to Egypt.
We have teamed up with Union Solidarity International to create a digital version of the campaign on the USi website. Click on the link below to sign a statement and tweet out your protest to Hammond.
What you can do:
- Go to the USi website to sign the postcard online
- Contact us if your union branch can support the campaign through a donation for printing costs
