Protesters took to the streets of cities in four continents over two days of international solidarity actions backing the #noprotestlaw campaign. Demonstrations and rallies took place in Buenos Aires, Athens, Dublin, Derry, Paris, Berlin, London and New York City demanding the release of political prisoners and highlighting the cases of activists tried under the repressive protest law.
Meanwhile a peaceful protest in Cairo making the same demands was attacked by the police and plain-clothed thugs, and 37 people arrested, including the younger sister of jailed activist Alaa Abdel Fattah, Sana Ahmad Seif.
